DECOMB Research Project, Helsinki Finland (2007)

The DECOMB Group and the Yale School of Architecture joined forces to study an area of downtown Helsinki, Monk’s Land, famous as an important part of the original master plan by Eliel Saarinen and home to Alvar Aalto’s studios. The two schools joined with local planning authorities and developers to speculate on the future of the area. The work was also shown as an exhibit in Finland and student’s presented their findings to local government officials.
